How It All Started
It was sophomore year. Our frat was throwing a toga party and we were completely clueless. Nobody knew what to actually wear. Half the guys showed up in bedsheets that fell off within an hour. The decorations were three balloons and a sign. The playlist was just someone’s Spotify shuffle. And the food? Let’s not even talk about the food.
The party was a disaster. But the morning after, sitting in the dining hall still wearing a slightly torn bedsheet, the three of us made a decision. No college student should ever have to throw a bad party because they didn’t know where to start.
So we built CollegePartyThemes.com. We researched every theme. We tried the outfits ourselves. We tested the recipes. We sourced everything on Amazon. We created the guides we wish we’d had that night. And then we put it all online for free — because great parties shouldn’t require a big budget or a party planning degree.
That was three years ago. Today we’ve helped over 500,000 college students throw parties they’re still talking about. And we’re just getting started.
Meet the Team
Madison Clarke
Co-Founder
Madison studied Fashion Marketing at UCLA and has been obsessed with party aesthetics since she threw her first themed birthday party at age 12. At CollegePartyThemes, she’s the person behind every single outfit guide — she personally researches every look, tests which pieces actually work on different body types, and finds the best Amazon options under $30. If you’ve ever read one of our outfit guides and thought “this is actually helpful” — that’s Madison.
Outside of CPT, Madison is a vintage thrift store enthusiast, an amateur photographer, and the person in her friend group who is always 25 minutes late but arrives looking incredible. Her Y2K party in junior year is still talked about as the best party in her sorority’s history.

Olivia Bennett
Co-Founder
Olivia is the creative brain behind everything you see on CollegePartyThemes when it comes to decorations, food, and the overall party atmosphere. She has an interior design background and a deeply unhealthy obsession with making any space look incredible on a budget. Give Olivia $50 and a trip to Amazon and she will transform your dorm room into a Hawaiian paradise, a Y2K throwback, or an ancient Olympus — your choice.
She’s also the one who personally tested every single food recipe on this site — including the time she made Huli Huli chicken in a tiny apartment kitchen with no proper grill and a smoke alarm that went off three times. The recipe section exists because of her dedication. She’s originally from Austin, Texas and brings the same “go big or go home” energy to every party guide she writes.

Ryan Matthews
Co-Founder
Ryan is the frat guy on the team — the one who has actually thrown 40+ themed college parties and knows from real experience what works and what completely bombs. He’s the voice behind the guys outfit guides, the party games sections, and the drink recipes. When Ryan writes that the Solo cup kilt wins best costume at every ABC party — he knows because he wore one to five different parties across two semesters and won every single time.
Ryan studied Communications at Ohio State and now splits his time between CollegePartyThemes and his passion project — a college party podcast. He’s the one who convinced Madison and Olivia to actually build this site rather than just complaining about bad toga parties over dining hall breakfast. Without Ryan’s “just do it” energy, none of this exists.
